Willard E. Bramstedt, 73, of Route 2, Lakeview Drive, Elkhart Lake, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 23, 1990 at Valley View Medical Center, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born April 13, 1917 in the Town of Herman, a son of the late Henry and Edna Roehrborn Bramstedt. Willard was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Howards Grove, where he also attended school.
Winona L. Harms was united in marriage with Willard Bramstedt on May 27, 1939 at the Harms Homestead in the Town of Mosel. After marriage, the couple lived on the Harms Homestead and later lived on the Bramstedt Homestead during this time.
Willard was employed by Bitter Neumann and Company in the plumbing department. Later he worked for the Sears Company until purchasing their farm in the Town of Herman in 1946.
During the 1960 Presidential Campaign, Senator John F. Kennedy visited the farm. The family will always cherish this memory. Willard and Winona retired from farming in 1981, moving to Elkhart Lake.
They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in May of 1989.
Winona preceded Willard in death on May 4, 1990. Willard was a life-member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, and was a past member of the Trinity Church Council.
Funeral services for Willard E. Bramstedt will be held Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Howards Grove, the Rev. Darrel Bergelin, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery
Survivors of Willard E. Bramstedt include four sons, Orlynn (Sue Ann) of Howards Grove; Allan (Donna) of Route 1, Sheboygan Falls; Dale (Kathleen) and Dennis (Cynthia) Bramstedt, of Route 1, Cleveland; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Janice) Lieffring, of CTH MM, Cleveland and Mrs. Mark (Lori) Feldmann, of Route 2, Elkhart Lake; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Henry (Edna) Bramstedt, of Town of Sheboygan and one sister-in-law, Mrs. LaVera Bramstedt, of Howards Grove. Willard was also preceded in death by one brother, Roman.
