Henry Adrian Burden, 89, a retired mechanical contractor, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in Stephenville.
Visitation: noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, First Baptist Church, Hico. Interment: Fairy Cemetery.

Adrian was born March 22, 1918, to Henry A. and Mamie Leeth Burden in the Falls Creek Community of Hamilton County. He was raised in Hico and Fairy and graduated from Fairy High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1945 and earned the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
Adrian and his brothers, Charles and J.W., started Burden Brothers, Inc., a mechanical contracting corporation, in 1947. Adrian retired in the 1970s and moved to a ranch in Iredell and later to Hico.

Survivors: wife, Marguerite Burden of Hico; sons, Hank Burden and wife, Kathy, of DeSoto, Paul Burden and wife, Neatie, of Granbury and Jack Burden of California; stepdaughters, Margo Thiebaud of Hico, Nellye Gripp of Hico and Jean Ann Golightly of Stephenville; stepson, Jim Wolfe of Mansfield; sisters, Evelyn Sorenson of Cranfills Gap and Quata Powers of Iredell; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
