Cassie R. Osborne, 94, formerly of 732 Rowlee Rd., Fulton, died Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney. A native of Volney, Mrs. Osborne was a life resident of the Fulton-Volney area. She wrote the "Mount Pleasant News" column in The Fulton Patriot newspaper for many years. Mrs. Osborne was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, where she was a past president of the United Methodist Women, belonged to the Birthday Circle, and was Sunday school teacher for 46 years. She had been a member of the Rowlee School P.T.A. many years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer W. Osborne, who died in 1990 and by a daughter, Lois E. Halstead, who died previously. Surviving are a daughter, Ellen L. Allen of Palermo; three sons, Bruce A. and Clyde H. Osborne, both of Volney, and Vance A. Osborne of Baldwinsville; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Volney. Pastor David Grey will officiate. Spring burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Volney. Calling hours will be held today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Volney. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 2862 County Route 45, Fulton, N.Y. 13069. Arrangements made through Foster Funeral Home, Fulton.
