NOTE: This granite plinth is attributed to the family, with birth and death dates added. The smaller monument shown, inscribed "Elijah T. - Ann R." is their actual burial stone and location of burial.
ANN ROSINI (CLAPP), b.1842, (Greenbush) Scituate, MA, d.1920, Scituate, MA, a daughter of miller and merchant THOMAS CLAPP and ANN ROSINA (CUDWORTH) of (Greenbush) Scituate, and granddaughter of LEONARD CLAPP and BETSY (STETSON) of (Greenbush) Scituate, and wife of her fourth cousin, ELIJAH THOMAS "Lige" CLAPP, of (Greenbush) Scituate, MA, son of ELIJAH CLAPP and HARRIET (FORD) of (Greenbush (Scituate, MA. These two Clapp lines managed the businesses across from the Pond in Greenbush for generations.
Ann (Clapp) and Elijah Thomas Clapp had children:

--HELEN AUGUSTUS (CLAPP) ROGERS, b.1/19/1868
--WILLIAM HOWARD "Pete" CLAPP, b.12/14/1869

--RICHARD CLAPP, b.11/20/1879
--FREDDIE CLAPP, b.1883, d.1892
Their son, William "Pete" Clapp, was 'the last miller of Greenbush', having given the historic grist mill, and the land beside and behind it, to the Scituate Historical Society, along with water rights to operate it from the Pond. The mill is part of the numerous landmarks open to the public during the annual Scituate Heritage Days).
