Funeral services for Don ''Rudy'' Block, Sr., 74, of Lufkin will be, October 31, 2009 in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be in the Nat Cemetery.

Mr. Block was born August 18, 1935 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Ella B. (Goldsberry) and Harvey Sylvester Block, and died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Block served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was awarded a Bronze Star. He retired from the Lufkin Industries Trailer Plant following 37 years of service, was a professional bass fisherman, and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. Block was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Sherri Graham and husband Van and Alainia Stegall and husband Robert; son, Don Rudy Block, Jr. and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Shannon Graham, Sandra Block, Diana Block, Larry Smith, Jonna Block, Jazzy Riddley and Altan Stegall; sister, Ruby Joyce Largent and fiance Jim Draper; and special niece, Cindy Curry and husband Paul.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Block was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Block; and niece, Cecilia Letney.
