Nancy Ann Watson is the daughter of George Watson and Mary "Polly" Miller Watson. She was born in Rutherfordton, NC. Her husband Col. Elijah Patten Jr. died at the age of 37 and she married the second time to Thomas Jefferson and moved to Arkansas. She was the second of three wives to Thomas Jefferson. Col. Elijah Patten Jr. and Nancy Ann Watson Patten had at least 5 children. Adolphus Leander Patten, Margaret Miller Patten, Harriet Newell Patten, Charity E. Patten, and Rachel C. Patten. Her daughter Rachel and husband Thomas are buried here and it is believed that she is also. Both Daughter Rachel and Mother Nancy died in 1857. It is possible they died from the same illness.
