George Watson Esq. is the son of Hugh Watson and wife Elizabeth. Her maiden name is unknown. George came from a patriotic family. His three older brothers Patrick, John and William all served in the Revolutionary War. They are all buried in Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. George being the youngest to our knowledge did not serve. On 7 January 1793 he married Mary "Polly" Miller daughter of James Miller and Mary. Maiden name unknown. Only one child has been identified Nancy Watson. Nancy married Colonel Elijah Patten Jr. Colonel Elijah Patten Jr. is buried beside Mary "Polly" Watson his mother in law. He died at the age of 37. His wife remarried and is buried in Arkansas.

Gravesite Details
The stone was recorded to be a field stone however it is a marble headstone. The top left corner is broken and missing. Faint letters may sometimes be seen in good light. It is very fragile and parts of the marble crumbles easily. On the side you can see stone cutter's marks. It is the same type stone as his wife who rests beside him.
