The funeral for Agnes Christella Burreson will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mabel First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Burial will be in Hesper Lutheran Cemetery in Hesper, Iowa.

Mrs. Burreson, 102, of Mabel, died Friday (Jan. 25, 2008) at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.

Agnes Anderson was born June 29, 1905, in Preble Township in Fillmore County. She attended the Tawney School in rural Mabel. On Oct. 31, 1931, she married Evelyn Burreson in Mabel First Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Hesper and worked at Hanson Drug in Mabel. In 1952, she moved to Winona and was employed by McVey's Ice Cream. She also spent 20 years working in food service at Winona State University. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Winona and was active in WELCA and her circle. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, embroidering, sewing, quilting and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Survivors include a son, Dennis (Pat) of Rochester; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.

Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is in charge of arrangements.
