MRS. LEVI SWAIM DIES
The community is saddened this week by the death of Mrs. Levi Swaim which occured Tuesday, April 12th. She had been ill the past week with pneumonia and her condition had been considered very serious. Although her death was not unexpected it comes as a shock to her family and to many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Swaim was born June 12th, 1853, and was 73 years and 10 months of age at the time of her death. For many years she and her husband were residents of Union township, coming to Moravia some eleven or twelve years ago. Having lived so long in this and adjoining communities she has made many acquaintances here who have become her steadfast friends and who will deeply mourn her departure from this life.
Besides her husband, with whom she has lived these 57 years, she is survived by four sons, W. G. Swaim of Webb, Iowa, Frank of Moravia, Clarence of Drakesville and Austin of Ottumwa, five daughters, Mrs. John Tadlock, Mrs. Mary Wills and Mrs. Grace Main, of Moravia, Mrs. Josie Schley of Lusk, Wyo., Mrs. Rose Ogden of Cedro Wolley, Wash.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the United Brethren Church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. O. O. Hobson officiating. Interment will be made in the Moravia cemetery.
