Eugene BOYER, 77 well known and respected farmer, passed away at his home north of Unionville, Iowa on Monday evening after being seriously ill for the past month. He had been in failing health for about four years. He was born July 3, 1882 on a farm near Main Station the son of Solomon Greenbury and Sarah Jane BURNS-BOYER. He spent his entire life time in Appanoose County. On November 11, 1905, he united in marriage to Ruby MORE who passed away May 30, 1932. To this union four children were born: Icel KOEHLER of Udell; Lulu STOCKER of Blakesburg; Clifford BOYER of Reedley, CA; Marjorie MAIN of Moravia.

On August 26, 1934 he was married to Carrie TUBAUGH, who survives.

He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna WOODWARD of Moravia and Mrs. Ella CRIDLEBAUGH, Santa Rosa, California; also nine grandchildren and nine great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one sister, Mrs. Emma WHICKER; three half brothers Frank, Sam, and Silas BOYER; three half sisters, Amanda BOYER; Matilda SWAIM; and Belle WALLACE.

He was a life time member of the Methodist Church and participated in its activities as long as his health permitted. For over sixty years he sang in the church choir. During his life time he served in many community offices and was always interested in community affairs.

Services will be held at the Unionville Methodist Church today (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 with Rev. Banks Doggett, Jr. in charge.
