Evalina Maria Taylor
Evalina Taylor, age 85, of Gary, passed away Saturday, January 29, 1994 at Phoenix, Arizona.
She was born January 4, 1909 in North Redwood, MN, a daughter of Herman and Bertha (Voltz) Paglusch. She attended school there until moving with her parents to Revillo, SD where she completed her elementary education. She was united in marriage to Lester Taylor on September 7, 1932. They farmed in Lac Qui Parle County, MN northeast of Gary until her husband's death in 1970. Evalina moved to Gary in 1971
She was a member of the Gary United Methodist Church. She was a charter member and past president of the Gate City Senior Citizens, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and various social clubs.
She is survived by two sons, William (Roberta) Taylor of Santa Fe, NM and David Taylor of rural Marietta, MN; two daughters , Mrs Finton (Bernice) McMahon of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Sid (Wanda) Magness of Phoenix, AZ.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and John, and four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 4, 1994 at 1:30 p.m.in the United Methodist Church at Gary with Rev. Kip Roozen officiating. Special musical selections were sung by Tom Quinn accompanied by Pansy Gage at the organ. Casketbearers were Pete and Alan Risdahl, Steve Taylor, Don Denekamp, Jim Thomas and Neal Schumacher. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery at Gary.
