Services Held For Mrs. F. M. Watkins
Funeral services for Mrs. F. M. Watkins were held Sunday afternoon in the Southern Baptist church with the Rev. J. B. Shinn in charge.
Mrs. Watkins died Friday night at the home of her daughter Mrs. W. F. Crabb in Rush Springs.
Pallbearers were: Earl Faulkner, Cleatus Doyle, Johnnie Evans, H. V. Wilcox and Bill Mann.
The song service was in charge of the church choir.
She is survived by Mrs. W. F. Crabb, Rush Springs; J. W. Watkins, Nocona, Texas; C. W. Watkins, Hardin City; Mrs. J. W. Riley, Wichita Falls, Texas; G. O. Watkins, Bakersfield, Calif.; C. C. Watkins, Henrietta, Texas; and L. M. Watkins, Wichita Falls, Texas.
By one brother B. P. Thompson, Marlin, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. J. W. Hightower, Duncan.
She was born Miss Mittie Thompson, April 22, 1877, near Kosse, Texas. She married F. M. Watkins on Oct. 3, 1897 and came to Oklahoma in 1914. Her husband died in 1950 and since that time she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. Crabb in Rush Springs.
She was a member of the Southern Baptist church.
Internment was in the Rush Springs [sic] cemetery with Calloway-Mullican in charge.

She married Frank Watkins on Oct. 3, 1897 in Falls County, Texas. Not realizing at the time that it was for her benefit, she first noticed him on Main Street in Kosse, Texas. He was horseback and made his mount rear up on his hind legs numerous times in front of her that Saturday afternoon! She thought, "what a smart aleck!" But, he got her attention that day and they were later married anyway.
