Diane Rae Hill, 67, of Moreland, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 31, 2015, at the Gables Assisted Living Center in Blackfoot.
Diane was born on May 5, 1947, in Pocatello to Marvin Smith and Mary LaVoi McCammon. She attended Pocatello High School. Diane graduated from ISU with at bachelor's degree in nursing.
On October 22, 1991 she married Reynolds Hill. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1993. They settled down together in the Moreland area where they raised their family.
She worked for over 30 years as an RN in the Blackfoot area. She took care of many people throughout her career in hospitals and in home health and hospice.
Diane had many hobbies and activities. She was a very talented needleworker and an excellent cook. Diane was also an accomplished pianist, an alto singer and also and actress. She enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, gardening, and anything and everything that involved her children and grandchildren. Diane also worked hard in many callings in the church and also enjoyed doing genealogy work.
She is survived by husband, Reynolds Hill, of Moreland; her daughters, Marcella Murdoch (Gail Fields), of Blackfoot; Katie (Ryan) Leavitt, of Pocatello; her sons, Tony Lopez, of Blackfoot; Dan (Heather) Mihlfeith, of Pocatello; Thomas (Kim) Mihlfeith, of Boise; and Ben Milhlfeith, of Blackfoot; stepchildren, Renny Hill and Jerod Hill; her sisters, Marilyn Aldredge, of Pocatello; Virginia Dillon, of Caldwell; and Jolene (Paul) Davis, of Nampa; and her numerous grandchildren.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mary LaVoi Smith; her two brothers-in-law, Wendall Aldredge and Bob Dillon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Moreland 4th Ward Chapel, 740 West 175 North. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. Blackfoot and again for one hour prior to services at the church.
