Curtis McElwee Conner, 91, of Fishersville, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2022 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Conner was born on August 18, 1930 in Rockbridge County and was a son of the late Everett Curtis and Ethel (Caudle) Conner.

Curtis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later worked for DuPont for more than 30 years as a Supervisor in the Powerhouse. He liked to read all types of books. He also enjoyed following his son's band and listening to their music. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Even at 91 years old, he still went to the gym! Mr. Conner was a member of the Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren.

Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Ross) Conner in 1992.

Curtis is survived by his son, Anthony Curtis "Tony" Conner, and his wife Colleen of Waynesboro; siblings, Doris Fitzgerald, Roy Conner, Ann Arbogast, Steve Conner, Gene Conner, Kay Cook, Doug Conner, David Conner; grandchildren, Travis, Brigit, Adam, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Stephen, Christopher; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Conner was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Scott; and six brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be held on Friday July 22, 2022 at 10 AM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Mike Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, July 21, 2022 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
