He was born March 1, 1942, in Augusta County, a son of Everett C. and Ethel Caudle Conner.
He loved books and was an avid reader. Prior to his becoming disabled, he worked at Mick-or-Mack, Sherwin-Williams, and Bur dette Oxygen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, C. Ray Conner.
Surviving are six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Betty Allen, Maxine and Jack Kinder, Doris and Charlie Fitzgerald, Ann and Dave Arbogast, Phyllis Moran, and Kay and Bennie Cook; seven brothers and five sisters-in -law, Curtis Conner, Clyde "Pete" and Gernie Conner, A. Roy Conner, Steve amd Bea Conner, Eugene and Grace Conner, Doug and Jeri Conner, David Conner, and Marion Conner; and a special cousin, Randy Conner.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m.. Monday, September 4, 2006, at McDow Funeral Home by Pastor Bob Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Program for the Aging, P.O. Box 817, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
According to his wishes there will be no public viewing.
