The one and only Stan Jones, Jr., 75, of Windsor, beloved husband and best friend for 54 years of Linda (Silvestri) Jones, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 17, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Stan, otherwise known as "Grampy," "BIG," and "Stan The Man," was lovingly attended to by his wife and daughters during his last weeks in the home he loved so dearly.

Stan was born in Hartford on March 16, 1947, and graduated from East Hartford High School, Class of 1965. It was there where he first laid his eyes on his soul mate and forever love, Linda Silvestri. He loved to tell the story about seeing her on her first day of high school...a Freshman, "sashaying down the hallway like she owned the place!" He graduated, but never forgot her, especially after a first date at the "Flingo" in East Hartford in December of 1966. After that first date, and at the ages of 18 and 20, they never spent another day without each other. Despite the turmoil their relationship caused both families, Linda and Stan were married in Keane, NH on February 16, 1968. The two of them beat the odds and are known by all to be one of life's greatest love stories.

Stan worked at Prudential as a Top 10 Sales Manager, 1977-1997, and was the recipient of the Presidential Citation Award. After 20 years, he and Linda became the proud owners of Grammy's Garden Learning Centers in East Windsor and South Windsor. They loved every child that came through their doors and considered their employees family. Stan and Linda were true to their motto, "A Home Away From Home."

Stan was also a huge Yankees Fan and spent many evenings watching them play. He also enjoyed many basketball games in his backyard on Cummings Street in East Hartford and at Martin Park. However, what he loved most was his years in his RV with Linda. They loved to spend weeks on end at Ocean Lakes in South Carolina and enjoyed many RV trips with his daughters and his grandchildren, but nothing compared to his cross-country trip with Linda in 2013.

In addition to his soulmate, Linda, Stan is survived by his daughters, Courtney Gray and her husband Michael of South Windsor, and their 3 children, Savannah Gray of San Diego, CA, Michael Gray, Jr. of Portland, ME, and Lyndsey Gray of Manchester; and Marcey Grade of South Windsor, and her children, Noah Grade and Ethan Grade of South Windsor. Stan also leaves behind his loving brothers and sisters, Linda Jones of East Hartford, Renee and Ray Simmons of Windsor, Holly and Nate Blount of Windsor, Tyler Jones of Chicago and Clark Jones and Marie Jones of South Windsor; very special people who are considered family, Wendy Gagliardi, and her two sons, Nicholas and Anthony Parker, and Missy Hannon of Old Saybrook; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 10 a.m.-12 Noon, at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Avenue, Windsor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 12 Noon.
