Obituary found in the "Waco News Tribune, Waco, Texas, March 3, 1959"; Mrs. Massingill Dies at Hamilton: Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca Savannah Massingill, 83, will be held at the Bob Riley Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Martin Reynolds and Rev. Sam Drake officiating, burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Mrs. Massingill died at 2 a.m. Monday after a month's illness. She was born in Nashville, Tenn, and came to Hamilton County with her parents when she was 13. She was married to Henry Counch in 1894. He was killed in the Spanish American War. They had one son. She was married to I.N. Massingill on May 4, 1904. They had lived in the Rock House Community since that time. Survivors include six sons, Cecil Couch of McGregor, Burl Massingill, Albert Massingill, Frank Curley Massingill, all of Hamilton, Ivory Massingill of Dallas and Arlin Massingill of Fairy; a sister, Mrs. Snow Morris of California; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
