ROCK HILL – Ina Bell Huffstetler Oates was born December 21, 1925, to James W. Bell and Annie Mae Gladden Bell in Chester, South Carolina. She was a graduate of Chester High School and later graduated from York County Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. Ina received her RN license to practice as a registered nurse and later retired from Piedmont Medical Center after 40 years of nursing.

She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, former Sunday school teacher, member of Bethesda Presbyterian Choir, member of worship committee, moderator for Bethesda Presbyterian Women and Circle Chairman, elder at Bethesda Presbyterian, and honorary life member of Presbyterian Women, USA.

Ina was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyle Glenn Huffstetler Sr. and William E. Oates; her daughter, Jayne H. Mallaney and son-in-law, Brian Mallaney; and her brothers, Henry Ross Bell (Marion) and Robert Hamilton Bell.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Lyle G. Huffstetler, Jr. and Peggy C. Reynolds, Patricia and Jonathan Lauckner, Anita and Sam Baker, and step-son David Long; her grandchildren, Lesley Anne Jennings (David), Jillian Leigh Knight (Jay), Meredith Collins (Swain), Robert E. Lesslie III (Kara), Glennis Chandler (Michael), Nick Mallaney, Lindsey Dunham (James); 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 4858 McConnells Hwy, York, SC 29745, at 3PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 6:00PM – 7:30PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
