Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church in Osage for a
retired businessman Frank Shelledy, 79, who died Friday at Mitchell County
Memorial hospital. Mr. Shelledy had been ill for the past several months.

The Rev. Robert Smith, pastor, was in charge of the services. Schroeder and
Houg funeral directors of St. Ansgar made the arrangements. Burial was in
the Osage Cemetery.

Frank R. Shelledy was born in Huron, S. D. Jan. 30, [1887?], the son of J. C.
and Salina Hayes Shelledy. As a small boy he moved with his parents to
Bloomfield, Neb., and there he grew to manhood. He later came to Charles
City.

His marriage to Mildred Carter took place in Charles City, May 1, 1913. In
1915 he attended (Shelledy Cont.) morticians school in Des Moines, following
this profession for 31 years until his health failed.

He was in business in Osage from 1921 until retired in 1946.

Mr. Shelledy was a member of the Masonic lodge, Eastern Star and was an
active member in the Methodist church, taking part in activities of the
congregation and serving in many official capacities.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; four children, Alvin R. Shelledy of
Minneapolis, Mrs. Leonard Herr (Wilma) of Baraboo, Wis., Mrs. Manvil Ask
(Dorcas) of Osage and Keith R. Shelledy of Fort Dodge; 12 grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Shelledy of Spirit Lake, and
two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Vogel of Cody, Wyo. and Mrs. Gustava Liscomb of
Costa Mesa, Calif. (April 14, 1966)
