He was born may 16, 1900, at Cowgill, Mo., and spent his early years there. In 1920, he married Fae Campbell at Hamilton, Mo. They moved to Manson in 1936, where they owned and operated a grocery store until their retirement in 1968. For several years they made their home at Mesa, Ariz.; and in 1981 they moved to Wenatchee. Mrs. DeWalt died in August of 1982.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Lowther, Sumner, Lois Lewman, Manson, and Glenna Spray, West Linn, Ore.; a sister, Bertha Bryant, Chelan; two brothers, Harold DeWalt, Kingston, Mo., and J.V. DeWalt, Manson; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
