From the Bolivar Free Press, April 20, 1871:
"Two old graves were found immediately in front of the residence of John Carson in Bolivar. They were re-interred in the cemetery." [Bolivar City Cemetery was the only cemetery within the city limits at the time.]
"One was a man named Dooley who died in 1837 or 1838 and the other was of Mrs. Smallman, whose husband had been engaged in 1839 upon the brick-work of the current court house."
