Elvira (Maxine) Meadows 68, of Leggett, Texas died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 in Lufkin.

Services will be at Pace Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Jones Prairie Cemetery.

Mrs. Meadows was born on April 9, 1935 in Madisonville, Texas to parents, Joseph Ira and Lenora Gibson Bonds.

She had been a Leggett resident for 23 years moving from Channelview but had lived off and on in Polk County for many years.

A brother, Paul Bonds preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Waldon of Leggett; a son, Wallace T. Meadows of Leggett; a daughter, Dina Merryman of Houston; a brother Occie Bonds and wife Claudia of Montgomery; four grandchildren, April Gomez and Amanda Merryman both of Houston; Josie Meadows and Miss Madi both of Channelview; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Brittany Gomez of Houston.

Pace Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
