Anita was born and raised in Newark, NJ, a graduate of Caldwell College with a degree in mathematics.
She held a variety of positions including teaching, tax preparation and bookkeeping, as well as her job at RCA where she met her husband.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters in NJ, a eucharistic minister and lector at St. Dennis, and was an active member of several charities throughout her life.
Anita will forever be cherished for her endless love for her family and for the years of unforgettable memories made at the shore. Her legacy of enjoying summers in Manasquan will live on for generations to come.
She was a loving wife, mother to seven, grandmother to twenty-three, and great grandmother to nine.
Anita was predeceased by her husband Tom, her parents Charles and Ann McSpiritt, and her siblings Charles, Marion, and Rev. John McSpiritt.
She is survived by her sister Catherine Kelleher, her children and their spouses Michael and Becky, Patrick and Linda, Brian and Laura, Maura and Ron, Diane and Gary, Nancy and Chuck, and Stephen and Michelle; grandchildren Claire, Matthew, Anna, Josh, Thomas, Tracey, Ryan, Sean, Greg, Paul, Sara, Alex, Kerri, Courtney, Kelly, Colleen, Jen, Charlie, Erik, Alyssa, Meghan, Katie, and Jack; and great grandchildren, Charlotte, Amelia, Ben, Sam, Allie, Aiden, Avery, Everett, and Maggie.
A private service will be held, and Anita will be laid to rest with her husband at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
