Lali Lucienne "Cene" Terry, age 87, passed from this world on January 19, 2008 at her home in Ingleside, Texas after a valiant struggle with cancer. She was born in Sausalito, California on December 26, 1920.

As an infant, she and her parents moved to the Rio Grande Valley and settled in Raymondville, Texas, where she lived for more than 40 years. Cene worked as a librarian at the junior high school and later as one of the first switchboard operators for Southwestern Bell, eventually becoming a union steward. She moved with her husband, Sid Terry, to Ingleside, Texas in the mid-60s and worked for many years at The Patio and the Moose Lodge. A gregarious free spirit, she was surrounded in life by a vast circle of friends. Many of these friends brought her great comfort during her illness, including Philip Howell, Hermides and Manuel Biel, Brenda and Ronnie Autrey, Gene Friedrichs, her life-long friend Alyce Lopez, and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie Eugene and Nancy Etta Shaw of Raymondville Texas; brother L.E. Shaw of Raymondville Texas; husband Sid Terry of Ingleside Texas; and niece Rebecca Jean Wilson of Houston Texas. She is survived by daughter Leslie King (Larry) of Harlingen Texas; sister June Wilson of Zachary Louisiana; nieces Mary Nan Wilson of Canyon Lake Texas, LuAnn "Sandy" Kirk (Keenon) of San Antonio Texas, and Carol Shaw Easley (John) of Baton Rouge Louisiana; and by her many friends.

Visitation and a funeral service were held Jan. 22 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Aransas Pass, TX. Interment followed at San Patricio Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas.
