By 1910, Fred had moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where he was a painter for Grarick Theatre. In 1935, he moved to Los Angeles, California.
On 22 October 1937, Fred (age 58) married May Ann Hall in Santa Ana, Orange County, California. May Ann had previously been married to Charles Smallback who died in 1912. May Ann died in 1948.
Fred (age 95) died on 28 June 1974 in Los Angeles. He was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California.
