VERO BEACH: Charles E. Carpenter, 71, a retired woolen mill weaver, died Wednesday, Feb. 21,in Vero Beach. Mr. Carpenter moved to Indian River County 16 years ago from his native Pascoag, R.I. He was a member of the Vero Beach Moose Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Carpenter of Vero Beach; stepsons, George Achorn of Chepachet, R.I., Robert Achorn of Framingham, Mass., David Achorn of Rockland, Maine, and Roland Achorn and Randall Achorn, both of Vero Beach; stepdaughters, Kathleen Rellias of Windham, Maine, and Peggy Ann King of Vero Beach; sisters, Vesta Dunn and Elita Maguire, both of Pascoag; 19 . grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
