---Death of Valley woman occurs at Daughter's home---
Mrs. Martha Sutherlin died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elijah McClenahan, southwest of Gering, having been in poor health for some months. She was born at Carydon(*), Ind., on August 14, 1866, her age at death being 65 years, 8 months, 28 days. She lived in this valley for about fifteen years. Her husband passed away many years ago(1914).
The funeral service is scheduled to be held today (Friday) at 1:30 at the Prohs Bros. chapel, with the service conducted by Rev. Lyndon V. Slocumb, (9477116) and interment will follow at Westlawn cemetery. Those who have known the deceased speak of her as a most estimable lady.###

The pallbearers will be Patrick O'Neill, Jim O'Neill, Harry Pattison, Joe Pattison, William Pharaoh and Ancil Gregory. Mrs. Sutherlin had resided at Gering for 15 years. She is survived by one daughter, son-in-law Elijah McClenahan, five grandchildren, and a brother living at Union, Nebr. # # #
Research indicates Marthas' maiden name as Cline, born in Harrison County Indiana 1866 or 1867. Wife of Jonathan Boon (?-1893) & Phillip Sutherlin (1838 - 1914). A "Branson Cline", born about 1855, was living in Union, Liberty Precinct (East Rock Bluffs) Cass County, Ne., for the 1910, 1920, & 1930 Census. Wife Ida J; daughter - Rose (1893), son Roy (1894) & daughter Ruth (1897) are also listed.
1920 census info: Martha list her father as born in Germany, her mother in New York state. Living with her
daughter in Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff, Nebraska.
