Harriet Newell Lamson was born at West Windsor, Vt., Nov. 21, 1814, being the youngest daughter of Rev. Samuel Lamson, one of the pioneer Baptist ministers of that state. She came to Clinton, Wis., June 15, 1854 and became a member of the family of D G Cheever whose wife was her niece.
Dec. 27, 1860 she was married by Rev. E B Hatch to Judge E R Ewing of Mt. Morris, Mich. A few years later her husband died and she returned to Clinton where she continued to reside until her death. Early in life she made a profession of religion and united with the Baptist church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Frst Baptist church of Clinton. -- Her funeral was held at the residence of D G Cheever which had been her home for more than thirty-five years. Rev. W B Stubbert her pastor conducted the religious services. The house was filled with sympathizing friends and neighbors. Thus ends another long, active and useful life, rich in good works, deeds of mercy, kindness and love -- Clinton (Wis) Herald.
The deceased was the last aunt of Mrs. W. D. Weller, to whom we extend our sympathy."
