On Wednesday, May 31, 2022 God called our beautiful angel Mother Dorothy "Dot" Moseley Hall Tolbert home to be with Him. Dot was born on January 30, 1940 to the late James Douglas and Willie Gregory Moseley. She was the fifth born of six children. Dot received her education in Mecklenburg County Public Schools and graduated from East End High School, South Hill, Virginia. Dot accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age in life and she joined the Jerusalem Temple United Holy Church, Boydton, Virginia. She was a faithful member until she moved to New Jersey. It was there she became a faithful member of Christ Temple. She served her church well. She was part of the founding members listed in the history of Christ Temple. Until her health began to fail her, she was a faithful and dutiful member. Mother Dorothy served as president of the Gospel Chorus, Kitchen Committee, Greeter and served on the Mother's Board. At Christ Temple, she was known as the "Walking Hymn Book." She knew just about every hymn word for word, when several had to grab a hymnal to keep up with her. She was employed by Banco Popular for a number of years. On July 17, 1972, Dorothy and William Tolbert joined in Holy Matrimony. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Walter "Puncho" Hall, sister; Lucy Gadsden; two brothers, James "Sonny" and Joseph "Joe" Moseley; her niece Jonetha Moseley; sister-in-law, Elder Mary Alice Moseley and brother-in-law, Ben Gadsden. She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memories; a brother, David Moseley Madison Heights, VA; sister, Christine Moseley Marcy, PhD (Robert) of Lake Forest, CA; grandchildren, Porsha and Najlia Crowley; seven nieces; five nephews; four great nieces; six great nephews; special and dear friends, Deacon Edward and Mother Jergine Broomes; her church family; other cousins, relatives and friends. We are going to miss you and your humble spirit Mother Dorothy. Graveside services for Mother Dorothy Moseley Hall Tolbert will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at the Jerusalem Temple United Holy Church where the Elder Doris E. Allen will bring the eulogy. Carter's Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
