Walter C. Walker Buried Saturday
Funeral services for Walter Charles Walker, 75, who died Thursday, July 25, at home, following an extended illness were held Saturday, July 27, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Mayo Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Roberson, pastor of Sisters Baptist Church officiated, and interment was in the Davisboro cemetery.
Mr. Walker was the son of the late George P. Walker and Mrs. Georgia Anne Hodges Walker. He was a member of the Davisboro Baptist Church.
In 1910 he was married in Washington County to the former Miss Leola Jones who survives him. Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Alma Johnson; one granddaughter, Miss Anne Johnson; one grandson, Charles Johnson; one sister, Mrs. S.H. Amerson, Macon; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Pall bearers were Hilliard Veal, Sam Collins, Phillip Purdue, Green Jones, W.H. Wiles and Raburn Taylor.
