Alice Ann Manypenny, 86
New Cumberland - Alice Ann Manypenny, 86, of New Cumberland, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at East Liverpool City Hospital.She was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Chester, W.Va., the daughter of the Albert and Beulah (Allison) Barmer. Alice was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Manypenny, whom she married April, 18 1943; and her sister, Clara Wilson. Alice was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church, was secretary and Sunday school teacher for Christian Endeavor, sang in the choir and was on the Mission Committee. Alice was a former Cub Scout Den mother. She belonged to the New Cumberland Women's Club. She was active in Weirton's Women's Bowling League where she was treasurer for many years. She was in the West Virginia and Weirton Bowling Hall of Fame. Alice is survived by two sons, Robert (Donna) Manypenny and John (Sharon) Manypenny both of New Cumberland; one sister, Ruth (Harold) Ross of Chester; three grandchildren, Stacy Manypenny of Toronto, Heather Manypenny of Hopewell, Ohio, and Jay Manypenny of New Cumberland; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Powell of New Cumberland and Jayci (Jason) Seacrest of Chesapeake, Va.; one great-grandchild, Kadence Alyse Manypenny of Toronto; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Turley Funeral Home, New Cumberland, W.Va. Services will be there Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Tinsky officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, New Manchester, W.Va.
