CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for David Guidry, age 89, who passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Courtyard Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.
Mr. Guidry was a native of Carencro and longtime resident of Lafayette. A devoted catholic, Mr. Guidry was a parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 42 years as a clerk. He enjoyed wood working.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Maria Deanna Huval; four sons, Lonn Guidry, M.D. and his wife, Kim of Carencro, Martin "Marty" Guidry of Scott, Todd Guidry and his wife, Valerie and his wife Valerie of Carencro, Vincent Guidry and his fiancee, Sara Etherington of Atlanta, GA; one brother, John Earl Guidry and his wife, Linda of Carencro; two sisters, Evangeline "Micki" Uze and her husband, Lionel of New Iberia, Marie "Teenie" Reed of Duson; one Godchild, Gary Broussard and his wife Pam of Carencro; eight grandchildren, Justin Guidry, Erin Guidry, Brandon Stakes, Brittney Guidry, Michael Guidry, Vincent Guidry, III, Abigail Burchfield, and Jimmy Guidry; 11 great grandchildren, Maren, William, Remi, Marlee, Samuel, Lily, Ivy, Kadence, Silas, Aiden, and Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents David Guidry, Sr. of Carencro and the former Marie Agnes Latiolais; one sister,
Daisey Dean Broussard and her husband Shirley; one brother in law Harold Reed.
