Daily Press 2 Jun 1975 - Mrs. Brenda Hudson, 26, 5215 Huntington Ave., Newport News, was fatally injured when the automobile she was driving went out of control and turned over at 1:20 a.m. Sunday on Menchville Road near Menchville High School, Newport News police reported. Detective Lt. Bobby Campbell said Mrs. Hudson was pronounced dead on arrival at Riverside Hospital. Campbell said Mrs. Hudson's husband James E. Hudson, 26, was given emergency treatment at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
Mrs. Hudson was a native of Etowah, Tenn., and had lived on the Peninsula seven years. She was a member of the employment office staff of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Newport News. She was a graduate of Etowah High School and of Knoxville, Tenn., Business College.
Survivors include her parents, L.T. and Alene Buckner; two sisters Janice and Robin all of Concord, Tenn. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Samuel Tatem. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 8 – 9:30 p.m. today in the Peninsula Funeral Home.
