Mr. Moss, who died June 29, was born in Davenport, Washington.
He moved to Spokane in 1923 and served in the Army during World War II.
In 1943 he married Faye Branenburg in Coeur d'Alene.
He worked for the Spokane Humane Society and Inland Asphalt Paving Co.
Mr. Moss was also the grounds and track superintendent at Playfair Race Course. He retired from Mid-Mountain Pipeline Contractors in 1972.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a founder and had served as president of the Eastern Washington Humane Society. Mr. Moss and his son raced dragsters in the Northwest, setting several records.
His wife died in 1997.
Survivors include his son, Ray Moss Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Spokane; a brother, Ernest Moss of Spokane; a grandson, Casey Moss of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
