Rick graduated from Athens High School in 1969. He furthered his education at the University of Alabama, receiving his B.A. degree in accounting. He then went on to obtain his MBA at Samford University.
He was a very successful businessman, starting and owning several companies. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed raising and training Boykin Spaniels. He sold these all over the United States.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Becki. He also has one son, Matthew Anderson, of Lake Forest, Illinois, and one daughter, Jordan Anderson, of Lawrenceville, Georgia. He has three granddaughters, Harper, Darby and Shelby.
Other survivors are brothers Clarence, Marlin (Valera), Curtis (Mitzi) and Ross. He has two sisters, Marla Easter (Michael) and Lisa Rodgers (Neil).
