ASAHEL CLARK FINNEY
Asahel C. Finney, son of Col. Levi and Orpha (Clark) Finney, was born in Shrewsbury, Vermont, in 1822, and died in Kansas City, Missouri, about 1885. He entered University in 1841, remaining three years. He engaged in business in Shrewsbury, Vermont, until 1850, when he located in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and continued in mercantile pursuits. Later, he moved to Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and engaged in the lumber business. In 1872, he located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where he continued in the same line of work, being a partner in the Star Lumber Company, until 1882, when he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Here he made his home until his death.
He is survived by a son, A.M. Finney, of Charleston, West Virginia.
