HANNIBAL H. FINNEY, farmer, P. O. Miller's Station, was born in Rutland County, Vt., November 8, 1816, son of Levi and Orpha P. (Clark) Finney, of that place. Mr. Finney came to this county in 1851 and located in Meadville, where he resided one year, and in the fall of 1852 settled in Rockdale Township, on the farm where he now resides, which comprises 500 acres; about 200 improved, mostly by himself.
He was married January 9, 1845, to Mary L., daughter of Abel and Mary (Low) Willoughby. of Shrewsbury, Vt. By this union were ten children: John W., Frank C., Charles (deceased), Darwin A., Fred M., Hannibal H., Jr., Willoughby W., Marion E. (wife of Vernon P. Canfield), George L. and Cassius L. Mr. Finney has been Justice of the Peace of Rockdale Township for two terms. In politics he was formerly a Republican, but is now an advocate of the Greenback doctrine. Besides his farming interests he owns a saw mill and manufactures lumber, lath and shingles.
