Dolores F. Pokorny (nee Arbogast), age 92, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of Naperville, IL and Estero, FL, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Chandler, AZ. She was born on August 23, 1929, in Naperville.
Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Harry Jerome Pokorny, whom he married May 6, 1950 and who preceded her in death on January 10, 2014, loving mother of Linda (the late Jeff) Knudson of Chandler, AZ, Jerry (Michelle) Pokorny of Naperville, Tom (Renee) Pokorny of Yorkville, IL, Sue (Tim) Miller of Sandwich, IL and Nancy (Preston) Cook of Chandler, AZ, adored grandmother of 22, cherished great-grandmother of 47, great-great grandmother of 1, devoted daughter of the late Louis and Ann (nee Spinner) Arbogast, dear sister of the late Bernice (the late James "Burdett") Gallup, the late Bernard "Bernie" (the late Margaret) Arbogast, the late William "Bill" (the late Agnes) Darrah and the late Gracie (the late Raymond "Ray") Tannenbaum, fond aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt and friend of many.
Dolores and Harry moved to Estero, Florida after spending the first few years of retirement traveling the country in their motorhome. They called Florida home until health reasons forced them to move to Arizona in order to be by family in 2011.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
