She was born June 18, 1921, in Mayville, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mamie (Overlander) Biekert and grew up in Mayville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and a broth-er, Ray Biekert.
On December 23, 1939, she married John H. Tall-man and they were married for 69 years. They lived in Mayville and had two children. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Tallman) Jette presently living in Astoria, Oregon and son, Jon L. Tallman, residing in Poland, Ohio, Lee Jette, son-in-law and daughter in law, Carol Tallman. She also has four grandchildren: Kelly Jette, Leslie Jette, Michael Tallman, David Tallman, and four great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Vera was a stay-at-home mother and loved sewing quilts, making stuffed animals and dolls for family. She made a mean peanut butter pie and loved to bake for others.
There will be a private burial at the Mayville Cemetery.
