"WILLIAM MARTIN PARKER OF URICH-CREIGHTON AREA
Funeral services for W. M. Parker, 83, Creighton, former resident of the Urich area who died July 27 at Nevada, were held Monday afternoon, July 29, at the Creighton Baptist Church. The Rev. Willard Jinght officiated.

Mrs. Wilbur King, pianist, accompanied Miss Edith Wittrig, Mrs. Edith Kenagy, Mrs. liozella Schrock, Mrs. Berniece Yoder, Dale Herschberger, Harold Herschberger, Richard Schrock and Wilbur Schrock.
Pallbearers were Jerald Burk-hart, Roger Estep, Larry Cump-ton, Carroll Kenagy, Wayman Cumpton and Rufus Kenagy. Burial was In Mullen Cemetery, west of Urich.

William Martin Parker was born July 23, 1880, in Hickory county, Missouri, near Wheatland, one of five children of Jonathan T. and Carolyn Parker. Two brothers, Albert and Perry, preceded him in death.
On Dec. 21, 1902, he married Nancy V. McKinney to which union were born five daughters and two sons. For many years they lived near Urich, and in recent years resided in Creighton. Mrs. Parker preceded her husband in death on May 5, 1954. In young manhood Mr. Parker accepted Christ us his Saviour and after moving to Creighton, became charter member of the First Baptist church. He was a faithful member as long as health permuted. Seldom was he absent from services.

Mr. Parker was a devoted husband and father and always happy to have his children and grandchildren with him. He had been in failing health for a number of years and had been hospitalized two weeks before he succumbed. He leaves five daughters, Mrs. Mae Estep, Creighton, Mrs.Nellie Burkhart, Springfield, Mrs. Harlie (Neva) Kenagy, Garden City, Mrs. Russell (Eva) Cumpton, Adrian, Mrs. Gilbert (Frances) Pullen, Urich, two sons, Lenzie Parker, William Herbert Parker, Wichita, 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Doll, Garden City, Mrs. J. O. Cathey, Garden City; a number of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
