"JONATHAN TURNER PARKER
Jonathan Turner Parker was born in Schuyler County, Illinois, March 27, 1850, and died at the home of his daughter, near Mayesburg, Mo., September 5 1928, age 78 years 5 months and 9 days.

He came to Hickory County, Missouri, in 1878 and was united in marriage to Matilda Caroline Pennington September 7, 1879. To this union were born five children, all of whom, with his wife, survive him. The children ae: William Parker, Mrs. Charles Doll, and Mrs. Maude Cathey, of the Urich vicinity. Albert Parker, of Albion, Nebraska, and Perry Parker, of ___ville, California. He came to Henry County in 1908, lived one mile north of Urich, and then moved south of the river and has ever since lived in the Lucas and Mayesburg vicinity.

He united with the Christian Church at the age of 19 years, holding membership with the Cove Creek Christian Church at the time of his death. His faith in his Savior never wavered but grew stronger in his declining years. His greatest joy was having his children and his grandchildren around him in his home. He leaves to mourn him his faithful wife, five children, twenty-three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. It is hard to give him up and our loss is His gain. May God's will be done.

Funeral services, conducted by E. W. Durbin, an evangelist holding a meeting at Mayesburg, were held at the Cove Creek Christian church Friday afternoon and burial was made at Mullin cemetery."
