Born 3rd of 9 children of Lige Henry Willis and Ida Mae Chaney Willis. SIBLINGS: Birtis Elma Willis; Charlie Clay Willis; Alfred Lee Willis; Henry Cole Willis; Luna Mae Willis; Harvey Raymond Willis; Allie Elizabeth Wilis; Lige Tillman Willis.

Funeral services for H. B. (Heck) Willis, 79, were held Tuesday, March 24, 1987, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Rush Springs. Ron Newton, pastor of the church, officiated.

Willis was born Feb. 2, 1908, in Malakoff, Texas, and died Sunday, March 22, 1987 at his home on Route 2, Rush Springs. He had lived in Rush Springs since 1935. He was employed at one time by the county and also farmed.

Willis was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Esta Lucendia Adams VanDeMark in Altus on Jan. 20, 1934. She was the daughter of W. W. and Lillie Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Esta, of the home; three sons, Darrell Willis of Rush Springs, Boyd VanDeMark, also of Rush Springs, and Joe VanDeMark of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Pat Willis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Harvey Willis of Sterling, Okla.; and Charlie Willis, Snyder, Okla.; and two sisters, Luna Ferguson of Marionville, Mo.; and Allie Ferguson of Moore, Okla.

Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were Wayne Sluder, Cookie Mayes, Ocie Merl Davis, Jim Chaffin, David Hale, and Bill Pate.
