Born on March 25th, 1927 to V.R. and Mary Dalton Ward, Sue lived the entirety of her life in Greensboro. She graduated from Greensboro Senior High School in 1944 and attended the North Carolina College for Women.
The majority of her professional life was spent working for over 30 years at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP. During that time, Sue raised seven children, all of whom would prove to be her life's biggest accomplishment.
Watching her children grow into their own and start their own families was Sue's great joy in life. This was evidenced when, at the age of 70, she learned American Sign Language in order to communicate with her youngest Granddaughter-indeed, no one was going to miss out on Sue's wisdom.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Overman; daughter, Linda Sue Overman; brothers, V.R. Ward, Walter Ward, and Jim Ward; sisters, Sara Ward Vinson, and Mary Lee Ward Overman.
