Mr. Harry DeWayne "Wayne" Posey, 71, of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Northside Baptist Church. The Rev. Jimmy Cargle and Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate.
Mr. Posey was born on September 21, 1950 in Worth County, to the late Harry Emerson and Inez Dees Posey. He had lived in Worth County most of his life and was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Posey was formerly employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, where he worked as a computer technician. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Posey was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was also a member of the American Legion Post 335 in Sylvester.
Survivors include his brothers, Mike Posey (Kathy) of Tucson, AZ and Gary Posey of Sylvester; nieces, Beth Holland (Stephen), Emily McEntyre; nephews, Michael Posey (Erin), Matthew Posey, James Posey and a great niece, Bridgett Holland.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Posey was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Posey McEntyre.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the service hour at Northside Baptist Church.
