Based on the 1850 US Census of Randolph County, North Carolina it is most likely that Ruth died from complications of giving birth in 1848 to her third child, Henry BRAY. Ruth is not listed in the 1850 census listing but Henry Bray age two is listed. The father, Alton BRAY is listed but dies in 1851 in a Deep River drowning accident. Rebecca BRAY nor Henry BRAY can not be located after 1850. Young Emley Jane BRAY is listed but was adopted by the next door STOUT family because she married Calvin Newton STOUT of that household in 1861.
