Mrs. Amanda Meckley, widow of Samuel Meckley, was born May 14, 1855, and died at the home of her son, Jacob Meckley, Hanover Junction, Pa., July 11, 1939, aged 84 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Mrs. Meckley was a patient sufferer with rheumatism for a number of years. Her death came very unexpectedly as the result of a weakening heart.
She was a good mother, a kind neighbor, and a faithful member of Shaffer's Reformed Church for many years.
The funeral services were held from the Goodling Funeral Parlors, Seven Valleys, Pa., on Friday afternoon, July 14, 1939. The main services were held in Zion (Shaffer's) Reformed Church. The funeral text was Psa. 90. Burial was made in the new cemetery.
