Urbain J. Tremblay
Tremblay, Urbain J. HALFMOON Urbain J. Tremblay, 83, of Clamsteam Rd. in Halfmoon, died on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born in St. Clothilde, Quebec Canada, the son of the late Zephir and Florida Gagnon Tremblay. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy with the PT boats in the Philippines and upon returning from war, he earned his GED. He served as the business agent for the Plumbers & Steamfitters Union in Cohoes, had been a pipe fitter for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 7 and was also the owner and operator of Tremblay's Plumbing and Heating in Cohoes. Urbain was the Democratic Committee chairman of Saratoga County in the early 1970s. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Crescent, a life member of the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 in Halfmoon, a member of the Clifton Park Elks and was also a life member of the Moose Lodge and VFW Post # 1498 in Halfmoon. Urbain was the beloved husband of Grace M. Kubizne Tremblay, whom he married on November 11, 1950, she died on December 26, 2005; cherished father of Tom (Kathy) Tremblay of Troy, Michael (Jane) Tremblay of Hingham, Mass., Tim (Karen) Tremblay of Halfmoon, and Paulette Tremblay of Halfmoon; he was the loving grandfather of Gregory, Melissa, Tasha, Michael Jr., Joseph, Stefanie, Heather, Max, Chuck, Caitlin, Andrew, Bradd, Danielle; also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by four sisters, Simonne Fortin, Laurence Joly, Jeannine Soulier and Lillian Staring; and five brothers, Henry, Leonard, John "JP" and Gerard and Hector Marcel Tremblay. Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:15 from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park thence to St. Mary's Church in Crescent where at 9:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment with full military Honors will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Memorial contributions in Urbain's memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
