Stant S Johnson, 97, passed away from natural causes due to old age on January 15, 2019.
Stant was born to James Roy Johnson and Lovernia Elizabeth Hinckley Johnson on July 12, 1921 in Roberts, Idaho. He loved learning math and science, farming, gardening, tree felling, scripture study, reading and teaching. His biggest hobby was his family. He loved to support his family in their many pursuits.
He served an LDS mission to Denmark in 1950. He was married and sealed for time and all eternity to Goldwyn Wimmer in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 16, 1954 and they had 5 children. He graduated from Brigham Young University 1958 with a BS in Math Education then earned a master's degree in Education from Long Beach State and a master's degree in Math Education from University of New Mexico. Stant taught secondary education math classes in the Anaheim Union School District, retired 1984.
After retirement, he and Gwen went on an LDS mission to Germany in 1989. Stant was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and The Disabled Veterans of America. He served actively in the Army during WWII as an airplane mechanic in California and Greece. In scouting, he was a Trailblazer and Eagle Scout.
Stant is survived by his children, Val Johnson (Holly), Michel Johnson Fleek (Sherman), Brad Johnson, and Dana Johnson (April); 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldwyn (Gwen) Wimmer Johnson, his son, Scott Johnson, and his parents, James Johnson and Lovernia Hinckley Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 19th, at 11:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1810 Springwater Drive, Orem, Utah, where a Viewing will be help prior to services at 10:00 am. Interment and Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, January 23rd, at 3:00 pm, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4471 Lincoln Ave., Cypress, California. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
