HARRY W.. RUCH, one of Thurmont's best-known residents, died at his home in that place at noon today after a lingering heart illness which had kept him confined to his home for most of the past 18 months.
For 40 years he had been an agent for the Western Maryland Railway, and for more than half of this time he had been stationed in Thurmont. He was a man of kindly disposition, jovial and well-disposed, nd the possessor of many friends. He took an active interest in community affairs, and up to a year ago had been one of the most energetic workers of the Thurmont Lions Club.
He was a son of the late Charles M. and Barbara Ruch. Surviving him are his widow, who was Miss Marie Kain before marriage, a sister, Emma Firey, Fairview, near Hgerstown, and a brother, William Ruch, of Chewsville.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, of Acacia Lodge No. 155, A.F. and A. Masons, and of the Tall Cedars at Hagerstown.
