Albany: April 19. John Cerulli, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at age 93. A man of purpose, John kept his vow to live until he was 93, leaving this earth just days before he would have turned 94. John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Regina (Owens) Cerulli, and his grandson, Owen Thomas. John was the devoted father of John III (Donna), Catherine (Chris Thomas), Christopher, and Jennifer (Paul Pagnotta). He was proud "Poppy" to the Lucky 7: Michael Thomas of Rochester, NY; John, Madeline and Samantha Cerulli of Holliston, MA; and Kaley and Katie Pagnotta of Selkirk, NY. John was also predeceased by his loving brothers Vito "Bill" and Salvatore Cerulli, sister Angie Calka, and parents John and Jennie (Sgritta) Cerulli. He is survived by his sister Grace Suppa and brother in-law James Considine. John was committed to service, a once-active member of the Knights of Columbus and proud to have served in World War II. He was a man of his word and a man of the world. Born in Stamford, CT, his professional life as an engineer took him to the Bahamas and Saudi Arabia, and finally to General Electric in upstate NY. With his family, he traveled across the U.S. and Europe, with many memorable vacations spent in a camping trailer. John's 9+ decades in life spanned countless changes in technology, politics and healthcare and he was determined to keep up with all of them. A lifetime learner, John was always eager to acquire knowledge and share it with those around him. His grandchildren and nieces and nephews were the beneficiaries of his many lessons on the fine arts of fishing, poker, and home improvement. Calling Hours are Friday, May 13, from 4:00-8:00pm at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 9:00am at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 U.S. 9, Round Lake, NY.
